Hi ladies and gentlemen!
My shoot with Christina and the rest of her family – including Dad, and their son, Matthew – offered lots of those moments. The session took place in March at a gorgeous farm in Gilbert, Arizona, and it was a non-stop shutter clicking extravaganza!
As you can see from the pictures below, Christina was the perfect soon-to-be mom. Any photographer would be lucky to photograph her. And that baby bump couldn’t get any cuter!
The proof is in the pictures!

Photos last a lifetime and having professional photos taken doesn’t always need to require you to take an entire day out of your schedule, something that can be especially challenging when you have children or need to get your family together. Mini sessions are the simple solution for people who are strapped for time but enjoy making memories with loved ones. Below are just a few types of mini sessions that you may be able book with your photographer at specific times during the year.
Family Sessions
If you haven’t taken some proper photos with your family in a while, a mini session is an ideal way to update your family album. Getting your family together can sometimes be a challenge but mini sessions don’t require people to take a lot of time out of their day, making them more appealing.
Seasonal Sessions
Getting outside and using nature as a backdrop makes for some of the best shots, which is why seasonal sessions are so popular. Whether you’re a couple that just got engaged, a family with kids or you have a baby on the way, a mini session that incorporates one of the seasons is a wonderful way to capture some special memories.
Portrait Sessions
A portrait mini session is ideal for someone who wants a few professional shots of themselves. They’re also great for couples, friends or any two family members, such as a mom and baby, who want a few photos together. Portrait sessions are also quite popular amongst engaged couples who want a few photos of this special time in their lives and that can also be used for their invites or save the dates. If your child is still in school and will be graduating, a portrait mini session will leave you with some great shots of their achievement.
Holiday Sessions
Looking to take a few family shots for use in your next holiday card or as a personalized gift? A holiday mini session is a perfect way to do this. This could be for anything from Mother’s Day to Christmas or Easter.
Keep in mind that mini sessions are only offered during limited times so make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter and follow us on social media so you don’t miss out whenever these sessions become available.

If you’re in the midst of planning a photography session, whether it’s for your newborn baby or just a general family session, you’ve probably heard the term ‘mini session’ mentioned quite a bit.
There are a few differences when it comes to a mini photography session vs a custom session. Here’s what you need to know before you decide which shoot is best for you.
Time Limits
This is of course one of the main differences between the two sessions. A custom photography session will last thirty minutes to an hour or two while a photographer will usually book several mini sessions in one day since they only last about 15-25 minutes at most.
Number of Poses
Secondly, a custom photography session will allow for as many poses as possible within the time booked while a mini session offers less time so your photographer will use their skills to capture as many candid moments at possible in a shorter period of time.
Number of Photos
While your photographer will still try and shoot as many photos as possible during your mini session, you will naturally end up with fewer photos than you would if you had booked a custom session. A custom session generates between 10 – 30 images while a mini session will give you 5. There will also usually be minimal retouching of the photos taken at a mini session.
So which photography session is best for you?
You may be surprised to find that many of our clients actually choose both! Often our clients will opt for the custom session for the entire family at a location of their choice. This gives them more time to play around with poses, backdrops, props and wardrobe changes. While they opt for mini sessions to get a few great photos of the kiddos as a compliment in between the custom sessions.
Regardless of which you choose, we look forward to working with you!
Below is an idea of the differences between our custom sessions. Our seasonal mini sessions are $175 which include 15 minutes time and 5 digital images and only happen during certain times of the year so keep on eye on our Blog, Facebook and Instagram for our next seasonal mini session.

The bond between a mother and a child is unlike any other, one that can be beautifully captured with a camera. But if you are anything like me, you are always the one behind the camera in family photos and hardly ever in them. Even when we have our family photos professionally taken, I am always too busy worrying about everyone else and do not get to relax and enjoy the photo session. The photos also tend to focus more on the kids and I hardly ever get to capture moments of us being ourselves.
I have recently been reminded that life is truly precious and filled with moments we sometimes take for granted. I want to be in more photos with my children and this is why I have come to realize how important my Mommy and Me photo sessions are. Now is the perfect time to capture memories with your children, regardless of where you or your kids are in life.
We want to make this photo session work for you, so whether you want a few photos with your children, or you simply want some memorable pictures of you and your own mother; we are here to guide you. This is your chance to get creative and really make a photo session about you and your kids and the special bond that you share.
Bring along anything that will make you all feel comfortable and will help you spend some time together as we do our job. For example, you might want to bring a blanket and some of your daughters favorite books so that we can capture your snuggles and story time. Maybe you want to stop and grab some ice-treats with your son or bring along a game that you both enjoy playing. This is all about creating a space where you can enjoy being together so that we can perfectly capture these moments for you.
If you are looking for an alternative to the traditional family portraits, the Mommy and Me portraits are ideal. While a family portrait can be a wonderful way to capture those special moments of you and your children through the years, it does require some extra effort to get everyone together and in the same place. A Mommy and Me photo session is easier to style and coordinate.
I love that Mommy and Me portrait photography is intimate and sweet with very little fuss. These sessions do not take very long and will free up your schedule to spend more quality time together. These sessions provide a space where those natural interactions and emotions can play out, resulting in a mini time capsule of your current relationship. You might even want to make this an annual tradition so that you can beautifully document the relationship with your children.
I’m delighted to announce that I’ve carved enough time out of my schedule to host “Mommy and Me” mini sessions, to be held at a location in the west valley on April 28th, 2018. Only 5 spots available! Because I think it’s so important to celebrate mother’s, these session are only $175 which will include 15 minutes time and 5 digital images. PLUS, everyone who books will get a free 5×7 print of their choice. I anticipate these will book quickly, so email me to book yours! info@ashleyflugphotography.com
